The Snail S10C is a very pretty looking all solid mahogany concert ukulele, which does what you’d want an all solid uke to - with a really nice tone. And although not dripping in bling, the slotted headstock and interesting soundhole decoration do a good job of making it look nice. Mahogany ukes are often quite plain, but this one still looks eye-catching, without being over the top.

With fluorocarbon strings fitted and a gloss finish, while the sound does have some might mahogany tones, it is more balanced and a little crisper than some mahogany instruments. There’s no muddiness at all and although the bass comes through nicely, this is well matched by some clear trebles that make your melodies sing out.

The fingerboard is ebony, as is the bridge, with some subtle binding either side of the neck. Around the body is orange and red purfling which stands out in its prettiness, but remains subtle enough to blend in with the mahogany’s pleasant grain.

This is a good option for someone looking to step up to an all solid instrument, who wants a good all rounder with a bit of everything. The 35mm nut will suit most (it is the definition of average), and it plays well, sounds good and looks the business too. A nice addition to the Snail range which just keeps getting better and better.
