Left handed ukulele players are not well served by ukulele manufacturers in general - relying on the ability to convert models by switching the strings around. This is possible with a great many, but when it comes to electro ukuleles, or in this case, cutaway models - they're not usually made for left handers.

This Snail SR-04CE-LH is made for left handers, with the bevelled cutaway on the right side for lefties. Well, the left side for lefties!

It is a very nice looking instrument, with gorgeous all solid acacia used for the body. This is embellished with abalone inlay and soundhole rosette, a smooth ebony fingerboard and an interesting shaped 'batman' bridge. That's my description, lawyers in Gotham have reminded me, not an official endorsement by the caped crusader!

As well as that graceful scoop of the cutaway, there's a comfort edge too (a bevelled edge to stop you getting a red mark on your arm as you play). The sound is quite subtle when you play delicately, smooth and sweet - but has the capacity to ramp it up if you give it a good thrashing!

Just to make sure, the 'CE' in the name means Cutaway Ebony, not Cutaway Electro, as used by many ukulele makers... it is acoustic only!
