Kala KA-MBG Baritone Ukulele
I got this KA-MBG into stock for the first time when a customer wanted me to get one for him. Once I received it and 'tested' it (well, you have to make sure there's no buzzes with a good play, don't you?) I immediately ordered another one. I had loads of baritones in stock at the time, so this decision was based on love for this instrument, not business sense! I mean, look at it!
So, this is a laminate instrument, but it sounds so mellow and pretty. It doesn't make sense that it sounds sweeter and richer than other Kala laminate baritones, but it somehow seems to.
Everything blends in nicely, with nothing taking away from the star of the show, the intensely patterned mango veneer. An abalone inlay around the soundhole doesn't look over the top on a the baritone body, and mahogany binding just rounds things off nicely.
This baritone is tuned DGBE, with Aquila strings, good quality geared tuners and a walnut fingerboard and bridge.
It looks lovely, sounds really impressive and looks lovely. And, in case I didn't mention it, it looks lovely.
