The Kala KA-SSTU-B is a thin body baritone ukulele, with a body depth just over 6.5cm at its deepest. Despite that thin body, with it’s slightly arched back it still delivers a mellow, rich tone - with some decent clarity in there too from the solid spruce top.

This KA-SSTU-B is supplied with a decent padded gig bag, which is handy as it’s fitted and made for this model, with a more shallow body, making it fit nicely. The uke has a 38mm nut width and is supplied with DGBE tuned Aquila super nylgut strings, as well as good quality geared tuners.

I am not 100% sure on the idea of a ‘travel baritone’ - but perhaps if you are a baritone player on the move then yes, it’d be ideal. But I see no reason why it can’t just be enjoyed for what it is if you aren’t going to travel with it, a really decent baritone uke, with good specification for a price that’s really reasonable!

There are some easy to add option extras, like strap button fitting, at the bottom of the page - but you can ignore the gig bag option as it has one already. It will fit a hard case but it’s bigger than it needs to be because of the shallow body, so I’d stick with the bag, which isn’t bad at all. There’s a low G add on there too but this Kala KA-SSTU-B is tuned DGBE so it has a low D and G already).
