Kala really got it right with the KA-ABP-CTG and the rest of this solid cedar topped series. It looks great, with a gloss finish, tight cedar grain top, red padauk binding and a nicely tooled slotted headstock - a combination of factors that really works. Smart, interesting and fancy, but not too fancy!

It is equipped with Grover tuners, a walnut fingerboard and Aquila DGBE strings, and feels nice, with nothing outlandish about the nut or neck to put you off (or to remark on, in fairness - just feels fine to play!)

Since this series came out I’ve sold quite a number, and in some cases to people who I bump into now and then. Speaking to people who have bought the KA-ABP-CTG, other ukes of theirs may have come and gone, but they always hang on to this baritone. With its traditional baritone richness, which never drowns out the trebles, it is just a good sounding, good looking, nice playing uke - so no wonder it has become a customer favourite.
