This was a one-off instrument that has now sold.

This is a one-off tenor uke, made by Millar's head luthier, Eric, from all solid 5A grade Hawaiian mango. The mango has everything going on in the grain, to the point where it takes the mother of pearl soundhole decoration, rope purfling and maple binding almost takes a back seat from the patterns in the wood grain. With a satin finish, it feels very tactile too.

Millar have fitted this tenor ukulele with Worth Browns, which give a nice articulacy (if that's a word), to the tone, which is sweet, and attractive, with pretty overtones and a dash of shimmering warmth. It has gold Der Jung geared tuners, and the standard 35mm nut which that personally, I'm most used to and comfortable with.

When you look at the materials and hear how good it is, it really stands out for value given it has been made by a single luthier. Of course, value is not the same as price, and it's still a lot of money, but what you get for it is a craftsman's skill and time, and plenty to pleasure your ears as you play.
