Ace D67 All Solid Mahogany Tenor Ukulele

£699.00

I got a small number of these Ace ukuleles as samples to try and they are very nice, but with import taxes and shipping they ended up just a bit expensive to be a viable as a going concern for my business as at the price they need to be, good as they are, there’s not quite a lot of competition. If you compare this with, say, an aNueNue AMM3, while it’s in the same ball park in terms of quality - everyone knows about aNueNue, and not many people know about Ace. Also, while I don’t know where things are made, the body shape and headstock was very similar to Flight’s anniversary series, so (while I don’t know for sure), I didn’t want to step on any toes there in case I was getting instruments from the same factory.

So my samples are going out at a reduced rate. It’s a purely business thing… not a reflection on the uke itself, which is very nicely built, with an attractive all solid mahogan body. The D67 has a 36m nut, nice antique-look Der Jung geared tuners and is fitted with aNueNue Clear Water strings and a low G (Fremont). It’s also supplied with a fantastic gig bag.

The sound is nicely balanced, with clarity when picked and a full-sounding tone when strummed, with some nice mahogany darkness creeping in. It’s not a powerhouse in terms of volume - think average rather than quiet, but it is a very attractive, even tone that really appeals to me.

I haven’t made a video demo, but there’s a video by G.J. Lee (a ukulele artist who inspected my samples in the factory for me), if you click additional info below.
