A great issue, if we say so ourselves, of UKE Magazine – the UK’s magazine for ukulele players. Available both in print and digital formats, September 2017’s Issue 11 is packed with ukulele content for players at every level. We’ve interviewed Tricity Vogue, London’s ukulele cabaret star, about her interesting tale of going from jazz singer to ukulele muse.
We also feature interviews with Kala’s Mike Upton, Wigan uke duo Chonkinfeckle, Matt Cohen of Noah ukuleles and Peter Brooke-Turner, from the fabulous Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. Deering of the USA have given us a Goodtime banjolele for our magazine competition, we turn our reviewing eye to Imua ukuleles of Hawaii and tackle topics as diverse as the summer’s festival scene, using effects pedals with ukuleles, and a chat with uke teacher to the stars, Steven Sproat.
