This is new stock, from a discontinued line, offered to me at a reduced rate, which I have passed on.

What is it? Well, it’s a very pretty tenor ukulele, with an active pickup, and arched top and f-holes. If I am honest at the full £319 price it was maybe a but more than I’d want to pay, but this bargain price allows you to look a bit different and have plenty of functionality and not feel like you’re paying extra for that fancy appearance.

I used to sell these Kala archtop ukes more than ten years ago. They were fine and they were fun but they do seem to be better these days - in particular the Kala active pickup with built in tuner, which does the job well. (They used to have a Shadow pickup which was very good at amplifying your hand movements!). And the tone is better and sweeter than I remember. In fact, I am pretty impressed!

I wasn’t so sure about the gold one initially, but actually the gold only being on the top and the back and sides being natural mahogany make it a bit less OTT.

This uke has a 35mm nut width, geared tuners and Aquila strings. The jack socket serves as a strap button too.
