aNueNue UT-110 Green Bird All Solid Mahogany Tenor Ukulele
This is the aNueNue UT110 Green Bird tenor uke. But hang on… it’s not green, it’s brown? Well, that’s true but ‘Brown Bird’ sounds rubbish and there is some green! It’s called after the green stained maple panel at the bottom of the ukulele (pictured), very delicate green purfling alongside the maple binding, and aNueNue’s ‘Green Planet’ fluorocarbon strings.
This UT100 ukulele is made from all solid mahogany from South America, and in costrast with other ukes in aNueNue’s Bird Series, has a satin finish. It still retains the attractive body shape, with cutaway, and the distinctive spalted maple soundhole decoration. And in terms of specification, you get the fantastic Gotoh UPT tuners, a 36mm nut width and super-smooth, slightly radiused frets.
One of the differentiators of this model from other Bird Series ukes (like the Moon Bird) is that is has lattice bracing. With this and the slightly smoother sounding Green Planet strings, you get a more vintage tone than the other, super-modern sounding Bird Series instruments, There’s great bass response, a smoothness to the sound and a nice chime, but a more traditional sort of sound. I don’t want to say it sounds like a vintage Moon Bird, but yet… there, I just have.
The Green Bird comes with a hard case which is bright yellow. Not really. It’s green really (surprise, suprise!). For other common accessories, like a strap button or a low G, scroll to the bottom of the page.
You can hear the Green Bird tenor ukulele, compared with others from the aNueNue Bird series, in a video demo. Click additional info below to see that. You’ll also find a video demo of the UT-110 used with a low G.
