The Baton Rouge V2-T5 is a really good value 5-string tenor ukulele, with a pleasant, rich sound. 5 strings have a pair of G strings, a high G (which your strumming finger strikes first) and a low G, followed by regular C, E and A strings. The result is a lower, deeper sound from the low G, but still retaining some of the sparkle that a high G gives you.

Baton Rouge’s sun series is a great example of a fairly plain, but really nice sounding instrument. There are no major frills, with just a little laser etching around the soundhole for decoration, but they’re also cheap enough that you can potentially afford a bit of experimenting in your ukulele collection by adding a 5 string. They’re neatly made, nice to play, with a roomy, wider nut and a slightly arched back, which seems to round out the sound add a touch of mellow warmth to the mix.
