Breedlove Lu'au Solid Myrtle Top Electro Tenor Cutaway Ukulele
This Breedlove electro tenor with cutaway is a gorgeous looking ukulele, with a solid myrtle top, and laminate myrtle back and sides. Breedlove is an American company known for their quality guitars - although their founder Kim Breedlove spent all his spare time making ukuleles in his garage. Although these are made in China, they’ve used myrtle, native to the USA, to make them.
The wood is really different and attractive, and this gloss-finish Lu-au model has a sleek, curved cutaway shape - theoretically to make it easier to reach the higher frets… (although often in practice, it just looks cool if you’re not venturing up that high!). As well as good quality geared tuners and Aquila strings, there’s a good quality preamp and pickup too, with tone, volume and built in tuner. This works well, with a clean representation of the acoustic sound.
So, onto that acoustic tone which is rich, smooth and erring on the mellow side, but with enough punch in the mix still to pick out your melodies nicely. It is sweet and rich at the same time, a really nice combination.
The Breelove Lu-au tenor electro with cutaway also comes with a decent gig bag.
