This is the Enya EUT-E6/BK, a feature packed and extremely pretty tenor ukulele. I usually try and pack as much as I can into the title of a product, but in this case I came up short. Had I done so it'd have been called the 'Enya EUT-E6/BK Black All Solid Flamed Maple Thin Body Cutaway Electro Acoustic Tenor Ukulele with AcousticPlus Acutuator'. A bit of a mouthful!

Quickly onto that actuator and what it is... like Flight's Soundwave, it is a device that offers you some built-in effects that you can use with or without an amp. Without an amp it gives you a volume boost to the acoustic tone, using the actuator. Also, there's on-board reverb and chorus too, giving you the option for different sounds. Without an amp, the increase in volume is modest, but nice and tight. (I find with the Soundwave, it'll go louder, but possibly too loud to be feedback free, for example). With an amp, it's a really nice pickup, really clean and controlled.

The E6 has a lovely all solid maple body, with the flaming on the top visible through the dark stain and gloss finish. I really like this subtle look, although the rest of the uke is far from subtle, with colourful abalone purfling, and on the neck, more abalone and haliotis inlays in an exotic design. This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you do like to stand out from the crowd, all of this work is well done, and it doesn't distract from the fact that underneath it all, it's a really nice instrument.

The acoustic tone is really rich and warm. With the thin body, it's not the loudest uke out there, but while how loud it is would qualify as average, it is extremely pretty, with a mellow edge and delicate trebles that work really well.

The 38mm nut width will appeal to those who like a slightly wider neck, and there are two strap buttons fitted as standard. It is quite a solid-feeling uke, so that's a helpful addition.

It comes with D'addario Titanium strings, quality gold-coloured geared tuners and an exceptionally nice grey gig bag.
