Enya are well known for good value entry level and intermediate ukes, but they have the capacity to make higher end models too - and this is a really interesting example. The EUT-Feather catches the eye with its intricate fingerboard inlays, and striking body shape. But underneath it's a clever design, and an impressive gigging uke.

The thinner body doesn't mean it's quiet, so there's a good, average-volume acoustic tone. This has some nice smoothness from the solid mahogany body, and a little sparkle too from the D'Addario Titanium strings (if you've not heard of these, 'titanium' is just a brand name not the material).

The uke also has the Double Acoustic Plus system, with built in chorus, delay and reverb effects. With a small speaker inside the body of the instrument, you can use these without an amplifier, to give your volume a boost or add those effects. Of course, if you have an amp, you can use it with that too, with the effects also. This type of system, like the Flight Soundwave that works in the same way, can have a bit of feedback if all the controls are turned up full - but the EUT-Feather fares better in this respect with its thinner body. It sounds really good amplified, really tight and controlled - I'd be happy to play with this one on stage. (Well, if I hadn't invested my life savings in effects pedals already!)

The EUT-Feather has a comfort edge too, a Richlite fingerboard and bridge (highly polished like gloss on the fingerboard), and robust gold geared tuners. And an amazingly good quality bag too.
