This is the black version of Enya’s popular, and very attractive EUT-M6 ukulele, but one which has a Double brand active pickup included. These instruments are not generally available, but I asked Enya to make some for me with he pickup, as it makes a really nice instrument and great alternative to other tenor electros on the market at a similar price. So, you’ll certainly stand out from the crowd, not just because of the uke’s striking looks - but because there are very few of these around so you’re unlikely to bump into anyone else who has one!

The Enya EUT-M6 electro tenor is an all solid mahogany instrument, with a black stain under the gloss finish. While this looks dark when the room is dark, with more light on it and you can see the grain of the mahogany under the finish. With the sleek cutaway body shape and modern headstock, it certainly looks the part - and that’s before you consider the very decorative fingerboard inlays.

This 37mm nut width instrument is built a little lighter than the other all solid mahogany tenor in a similar price bracket, the EUT-MAD series, and therefore it has a slightly brighter tone (but still full with mahogany’s warm edge and character). In addition, the harmonics are very pretty, with good sustain that seems to rapidly ebb and flow. I’m not sure I’ve described that too well - but trust me, it’s a very pretty tone!

The Enya EUT-M6 BK E comes with a fantastic gig bag and of course, that active pickup allowing you to plug into an amp. The Double pickup is one of the better active pickups at this price level for sure, with a nice, clean sound and discreet tone and volume controls inside the soundhole.
