Enya EUT-MAD All Solid Mahogany Wide Neck Blue Tenor Ukulele
This Enya ukulele is very good value for a nice quality all solid mahogany ukulele. The deep blue stain given to this tenor ukulele is the deepest of the deep. Under the gloss finish it shines in the light - it is very pretty and well made.
This model is available as an acoustic instrument, or with a pickup (an active, Double C1U with tone and volume controls tucked just inside the soundhole). You can choose which you’d like with the dropdown menu when ordering.
Around the soundhole is a rosette made from Abalone, with some decorative position markers on the richlite fingerboard. At the top, a three crowned slotted headstock. All in all it looks very classy. That pointy headstock looks good and is protected by the good quality, well-fitting gig bag that's included.
There are clear D’addario Titanium strings fitted, and a nubone nut and saddle. The nut is a generous 38mm width, ideal for the larger-handed (but not so wide it is that unusual for anyone used to something a bit thinner). The frets are slightly radiused, making barre chords more straightforward too.
The sound is luscious and gives some nice, rolling warmth. It isn't a powerhouse in terms of volume, but that delicate richness is really attractive. It's more of a solo player's instrument than a group session thrasher, but that's no bad thing. That warmth isn't muddy and the clarity of the trebles punches through nicely.
Two strap buttons are fitted to the ukulele as standard and it is supplied with a good quality gig bag.
