The Millar TA-260K tenor ukulele is an attractive looking beast, with a mellow, warm and laid back sound. In contrast to their TA-260G model, which has a gloss finish, this satin finish tenor ukulele has a more gentle, richer sound. It’s isn’t hugely loud, though it’s certainly loud enough, but offers harmonic richness and an all round prettiness which really suits warmly played chords and gentle melodies.

The TA-260K has, in common with most Millar ukes, a standard 35mm nut width, with an unchallenging average neck profile - but with the benefit of a flattened portion on the back of the neck under the first couple of chords - a handy and comfortable feature for when you’re playing chords in the first position.

The wood used is very attracive solid acacia, which is highlighted with rosewood binding and accentuated with an abalone soundhole decoration. This tenor uke has a slotted headstock, fitted with Der Jung’s very attractive aged brass effect geared tuners.

I am often asked by customers for recommendations of rich, warm sounding ukuleles. It’s always a bit of a challenge and warm and depth aren’t attributes that ukuleles - by their nature - generally excel at. However, in this case, I am happy to have something to suggest the next time I’m asked that question!
